New Weighbridge
9th April 2009A 44 tonne "drive-on, drive off" weighbridge has now been acquired and is currently being commissioned on site, enabling Salop to confirm and maintain volume and weight of goods inwards and outwards on an immediate basis.
This means Salop are one of the few places in Shropshire that can offer this facility.
Salop Strong despite economic Climate
6th March 2009Salop Design & Engineering Ltd is prepared to turn the Credit Crunch to its advantage.
During the short period of time in which we have experienced High Street Banks and Household High Street Store names closing there has been an overall air of despondency surrounding UK retailing and Manufacturing industries.
Many companies in the Pressings Industry have been sent crashing into administration by financial circumstances that only a few months ago would have been considered as normal trading conditions. Such is the severity of the actions taken by the institutions that their cut back in available credit for working capital has caused many a long established company to be dissolved.
Salop Design & Engineering Ltd is in the enviable position of being one of these long established privately owned companies but critically with no appreciable borrowing from the banks.
This has placed Salop Design & Engineering Ltd in the position of actively seeking expansion by the sourcing of presses, that are to be lifted out of the companies who are in administration, for future contracts.
Although seemingly taking advantage of the current dire straits that some of our co producers of pressings find themselves in, it does mean that we are and can still help to maintain the pressings industry here in the UK.
